Every investment should deliver value and your MAP meter is no exception.

If you purchased your prepaid meter through the Meter Asset Provider (MAP) Scheme, we’ve made it easy for eligible customers to receive their refunds as electricity credits in line with the amended Order of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

In this guide, we’ll show you how the process works, where to check your refund status, and what to do if you need assistance.

So, How Does It Work?

We’ve designed the process to be as seamless as possible. There’s no need to visit our office or complete lengthy forms. Here’s what to expect:

  • We’ll notify you directly. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive an SMS and an email from us.
  • Look out for your refund details. Your notification will include your Meter Number, the amount credited (₦), and a unique 20-digit Load Token.
  • Load your token. Simply enter the token into your prepaid meter just as you would a regular recharge token, and your electricity units will be credited immediately.

Why Is the Refund Credited as Electricity Units?

To make the process faster and more convenient, approved refunds are converted into electricity units and credited directly to your prepaid meter. That means you can begin enjoying the value of your refund straight away, without any additional steps.

From there, you can check your refund status and access your refund token anytime.
