Here’s the exciting part: both the smart meter and the installation are absolutely free! That’s right, you won’t pay a dime to enjoy the benefits of smarter energy.
Our teams will soon be visiting your area to install smart meters at no cost to you. You don’t need to worry about how or when. We’ll notify you in advance and guide you through every step.
Installations are being carried out in partnership with licensed Meter Asset Providers (MAPs). These are third-party professionals working with AEDC to bring this technology to your home or business. All MAP installers will be properly branded and are required to show their official ID before entering your premises.
Your safety is our top priority. Please do not allow anyone into your home without first confirming their identity:
- Ask to see the ID card of any technician or installer

Here’s how to prepare for the installation visit:
- Ensure someone is available at home
- Allow safe and easy access to your existing meter
- Keep your current meter card handy
