COLLINS MULENGA CHABUKA – Chief Risk Officer

Collins has been Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for AEDC since November 2013 when he took up the appointment having previously served as the Senior Manager – Risk and Compliance (Deputy Director Position) for Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc of Zambia. Collins is a qualified Metallurgical and Mineral Processing Engineer with an MBA in Customer Service and Quality Management. He is a certified Enterprise Risk Management Specialist having obtained a Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management, UK. Collins is also a Certified Health and Safety Practitioner certified by the British Safety Council.

Collins has over 22 years' hands-on experience in the development and implementation of effective Enterprise Risk Management and Health, Safety Environment and Social frameworks in electrical power transmission and distribution utilities and the Zambian Copper & Cobalt base metal Mining and Refining Industries.

In his current role, Collins leads and manages the Business Risk, Security, and HSES functions and activities across the company including the development of strategic policies, goals, and procedures. He takes the lead in all Business Risk, Security, and HSES related committees and activities in AEDC. Collins was also Part of the Due Diligence and Project Acquisition Team for the successful acquisition of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company Limited. He conducted the Acquisition Project Risk Profiling that was successfully submitted for the acquisition bid.

Additionally, he has the overall responsibility to strategically develop and implement a detailed Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance Framework incorporating all types of risk in the AEDC Business Environment and ensuring that the Organisation's risk portfolio is within the set risk appetite and tolerance limits.

Collins has verifiable year-after-year success in achieving departmental and overall organizational Business Risk alongside HSE performance targets that impact the profitability of the operations of the organization and the business growth objectives. His key mandate is to ensure that management of Business Risks and HSES matters in the Company is aligned with the overall business strategic pillars of AEDC and is geared towards the attainment of AEDC's Mission and Vision Statements and its commitments and obligations to customer satisfaction.
