Ernest Mupwaya holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical and an MBA. He has extensive experience of over 20 years in Electricity Industry at Senior Management Level and has held several Senior Positions which include Managing Director, Director– Distribution and Customer Care, Divisional Manager, Regional Manager, Project Manager, Senior Engineer for ZESCO Limited. Through these various roles, he has gained valuable knowledge and understanding of the operations of power distribution companies as well as management of utility companies. In these roles, he has been involved in the execution of strategies for ATC & C loss reduction, improvement operational efficiency through effective use of integrated business information system, pre-paid meter roll out and customer service programmes.


Andrew Atterbury is a financial and investment specialist with extensive experience of over 21 years within Electricity Utility Management. He has worked extensively in this field within Southern, West and East Africa. He has strong financial background in the areas of corporate financing, capital investment, project financing and treasury. In the various roles that he has heldAndrew has been involved in implementing strategies with respect to transformation, commercialisation, corporatisation and privatisation of utilities. He holds a Bachelors of Commerce degree and is a registered accountant with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants.


Collins Chabuka is a qualified Metallurgical and Mineral Processing Engineer with an MBA and over 16 years hands-on Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Risk Management experience. Until recently, Collins was the Senior Manager – Risk and Compliance for Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc. He has experience in the development and implementation of Enterprisewide Risk and Compliance Management Strategies including the NOSA Safety Management System and the ISO based standards of Occupational Health and Safety – OHSAS 18001, Environmental Management – ISO 14001 and Quality Management – ISO 9001:2008. Collins has verifiable year-after-year success in achieving departmental and overall organisational Health Safety and Environment performance targets that impact on the overall profitability of the operations of the organisation and the business growth objectives.

ABIMBOLA ODUBIYI (Director – Corporate Services)

Abimbola Odubiyi is an Electrical Engineer with an MBA in Internatioanl Business and an MSC in Electrical Engineering. He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. Bola has extensive hands on experience in the operations of the regulatory environment of the Nigerian Power sector having been the pioneer Commissioner and Board Member of the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission. During this period, he guided the successful take off, growth and development of the engineering, standards and safety division of the NERC. Bola has also worked as an Advisor to PHCN on regulatory responses on development and implementation of the tariff framework. Bola also worked in Powergen/E.ON UK for almost 6 years in various capacities. He has a passion for teaching and he has, over the years, taught and supervised post graduate courses in Nigerian and international universities.


Mr. Samuel Kyakilika holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree - specializing in Electronics and Telecommunications. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Advanced Control from the University of Manchester (Formerly UMIST) in the United Kingdom. He brings on board extensive experience in ICT from hardware design to application development, system automation and network operations. He has worked for organizations including GEANT (formerly DANTE), Network Rail and Google. He is married with a daughter and two sons.


Ahmed Rufai Salau is a B.Sc. Graduate in Accounting (Second Class Upper) from Bayero University, Kano in 1997 and got his MBA in Finance from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2004. He is also an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and has attended various professional courses at various Training Institutions including Lagos Business School. He joined AEDC on 1st March, 2015. And prior to joining AEDC, he worked with Transcorp Hilton, Trustfund Pension Plc and Legacy Pension Managers (PFA).

JUMOKE DELANO (Director, Legal Services & Company Secretary)

Jumoke is responsible for providing legal structuring, strategy and advisory services; developing effective contractual frameworks for engagements with counterparties; conducting fruitful Board and Management meetings, facilitating resolution of corporate disputes and aid corporate compliance with applicable laws and regulations. She has over 23 years’ experience in various sectors including professional and financial services. Prior to her appointment with AEDC, Jumoke was the Acting Company Secretary/Corporate Legal Counsel/ Chief Compliance Officer with The Infrastructure Bank Plc. (TIB) where she spent over six years in various roles including Transaction Counsel and Investment Officer. She successfully re-organised the Corporate Legal Department for effectiveness resulting in proper record keeping; drafting of comprehensive mandates and infrastructure related agreements; development of corporate policies, elimination of penalties previously paid to regulators and accurate/timely recording of minutes of meetings. She was a key player in the successful transformation of TIB from being a state owned enterprise to an efficient private sector led institution. Before joining TIB, she had also worked with Citigroup Nigeria as the Legal & Compliance Officer of the Commercial Banking Group and with Citigroup London as a Financial Analyst. Jumoke has a law degree (1992) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1993. She holds a Master’s degree in Banking & Finance Law from Queen Mary College, University of London and is qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales and an Attorney & Counsel at Law with the State of New York, USA.

CLARA MUSAMA (Change Management)

Clara has over 18 years work experience in various disciplines including business development, stakeholder relations, business analysis, business process reengineering, performance management, procurement, contract management and execution. She has hands on experience in project coordination and successful closure of multi- million US$ projects in West Africa and Zambia.

Clara is Coordinator for the Change management programme that AEDC has embarked on. She is responsible for the business process reengineering project and the business transformation project.

Prior to taking up her current role in AEDC, Clara was Director – Corporate Services for Copperbelt Energy Nigeria and was responsible to CECA’s business development activities in Nigeria and implementing post acquisition activities for the Nigeria assets. She also led a number of business process reengineering and change management activities in some functions at Abuja Electricity. Furthermore, she was responsible for the establishment and provided leadership for corporate administration of Copperbelt Energy Nigeria. Clara also held role of Business Development Manager and in this role she was part of the team that project managed CECA’s successful acquisition of equity in two power assets in Nigeria.

In addition, she pioneered the establishment of the investor relations function which successfully managed relationship with the over 3500 shareholders and potential investors in CEC. Clara was Investor relations lead on the Initial Public Offer of CEC and subsequent listing of the company on the Lusaka Stock Exchange a transaction which at the time was the largest IPO on LUSE in January 2008 and raised $28m Clara has also previously held roles in Public Relations and Procurement functions in CEC. She holds a BA Degree (Economics), MSC (Finance & Financial Law), Diploma In Management Studies and Certificate in Investor Relations. She is also a certified Change Management Professional.
